REVIEW FILM Merry Riana Mimpi Sejuta Dolar Merry Riana is a successful young female businessman, writer, and motivator. Her life story is told in the movie “Merry Riana (Mimpi Sejuta Dolar), adapted from her book of the same name. The film visualizes how she struggles to survive the difficulties of life and becomes successful. The riots that took place in Jakarta and other major cities in Indonesia in May 1998 made Merry Riana forced to flee to Singapore. Merry Riana’s father decides to send his son to Singapore for fear of being insecure. Merry Riana goes along with the money that only enough to buy food for five days. Fortunately, she met his best friend, Irene, who wanted to go to a university that was there as well. With the help of Irene, Merry can stay in the dorm and be admitted to one of the best colleges there. But, it’s all-new can be when Merry pays $40.000.
